I can’t recommend Skene’s Transmission enough. I decided to rebuild my own 4L60E transmission because I felt confident in my mechanical abilities and wanted to challenge myself by learning how to do it myself. Along the way, I ran into a few issues with the valve body that I wasn’t completely confident about. Terry, the owner, took the time to look everything over, helped me identify the correct parts and springs, and even helped me repair the valve body. What impressed me most was Terry’s honesty and willingness to help. Even though I insisted on paying him for his time and knowledge, he wouldn’t accept a dime. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was right and even gave me a couple of parts I needed out of the kindness of his heart. It’s hard to find businesses with this level of integrity anymore. Terry genuinely cared about helping me get my transmission back together the right way instead of trying to make a quick sale. His knowledge, patience, and honesty are second to none. If you’re looking for a transmission shop you can trust, I highly recommend Skene’s Transmission. I’ll definitely be back in the future for any transmission work I need, and I’ll be recommending Terry and his shop to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable service.

My transmission quit about 3 miles from my house. I spoke to a friend of mine that lives in Cartersville, Ga and he recommended I call Skene Transmission. I called Mr. Skene to see if there was anything I could do to salvage this situation… Unfortunately, there was not… He recommended I...
My transmission quit about 3 miles from my house. I spoke to a friend of mine that lives in Cartersville, Ga and he recommended I call Skene Transmission. I called Mr. Skene to see if there was anything I could do to salvage this situation… Unfortunately, there was not… He recommended I bring it in… He also told me about a local wrecker service (Matthew Smith Towing) These guys were super helpful and nice and only charged me 200.00 to haul my truck over 50 miles to Mr. Skene! I drove to meet Mr. Skene later that day… I asked him about certain parts in these GM transmissions that have issues… he right away took me and showed me all the parts that cause these issues and that he puts upgraded parts in all his rebuilds included billet torque converts!! This sold me right away as I have worked on cars, trucks and machines for over 30+yrs. Myself and speaking to him was like talking to a long-lost friend! Very meticulous and detail oriented and very knowledgeable! Between the conversation I had with Mr. Skene and the wrecker service he recommended…. This took a load of stress off me and my family knowing our truck was in the best of hands possible! He even went above and beyond and fixed some other minor issues that were not related to my transmission issue and didn’t charge me for them! This is real customer service!!! He has a life long relationship with me and my family!

I visited Skene's transmission and was greeted by a very courteous man, one of the brothers that own the transmission shop. I asked him his recommendation on what to do to proceed with my transmission, and his recommendation, to my surprise, was to not use a transmission service at all right...

I asked him his recommendation on what to do to proceed with my transmission, and his recommendation, to my surprise, was to not use a transmission service at all right now, but to wait and make sure I need his services, and his advice included what to watch for and how to know to bring it to him. Such a nice gesture from a gentleman who is a small businessman, and very wise. I would use this person for any transmission service I needed, without hesitation. Donald von Minden
